How do I know my credit card information is secure?
Shift Shade never sees your entire credit card number! We use Authorize.Net or PayPal. Your information is taken by Authorize.Net or PayPal and they send us your shipping information along with how many shades you ordered. We have the ability to accept or decline the order.

Authorize.Net is a payment gateway service provider allowing merchants to accept credit card and electronic checks payments through their Web site and over an IP (Internet Protocol) connection.

How will my contact information be used?
Contact information will only be used by Shift Shade to contact you regarding your purchase!

Do Shift Shades have any thermal characteristics?
Yes, the shades are great at keeping the heat in and cold out during winter and the cool in and hot out during the summer.

Are any components manufactured outside the United States?
No! Everything is 100% American Made.

How do I measure and fit the blackout fabric to my window?
The Shift Shade comes with a piece of high quality blackout fabric 54 inches wide by 75 inches tall. It is recommended to cut the fabric approxitemately 4 inches wider than the width of your window giving you 2 extra inches of fabric on each side. Next, cut the length approxitemately 6 inches longer than the length of your window giving you 4 inches of extra fabric up top and 2 inches extra at the bottom. (Another option is to fold the fabric to fit the window. This is not as eye pleasing as cutting the fabric but is just as effective at producing darkness).

How do I measure and cut the fiberglass support rods?
The Shift Shade comes with (3) 40inch long fiberglass rods that you will trim down to ½ inch longer than the width of your window. You will need a cutting tool with a serrated edge to trim the rods (a hacksaw works great). You then place the vinyl caps on the ends of the rods.

What colors do you offer?
Off white is the only color available for now

Do I have to remove my existing blinds to install the Shift Shade?
No, the shade fits between the window pane and your existing window treatment. Close your blinds or curtains and the Shift Shade is not noticeable from the inside and looks like a shade is pulled down from the outside.

How does the shade block out 100% of outside light?
The rod tension that supports the fabric in the window also creates a light seal by pulling the blackout fabric tight against the window casement. It creates "perfect darkness"!

Can the shade be removed when not needed?
Yes, it can be removed in under 5 seconds.

What attachments do I need to install a Shift Shade?
No attachments are needed. There is nothing to screw in or bolt to your window casing.
